INFORMATION MARKETING:ITS DAYS ARE NUMBERED

Let's look back a few years. Remember the days when if you simply had a pulse you could get a mortgage loan? Remember the days when your house's value went up by at least 10 percent each year. I sure do. It was less than 2 years ago.



I definitely benefited from those days both as a mortgage professional on the side and as a borrower. I started several of my business ventures with mortgage money. Well as we all know those days are gone--forever. Never to return, not even people with excellent credit can get those kinds of deals anymore.



Why did it all end? Because they never made any sense. I predict the same thing will happen with the marketing of purely information products on the internet and many mlm business opportunities.



Not only do people no longer have money to waste on bogus "work at home opportunities" but the whole concept of selling information products to people that teach people how to sell information products is basically a pyramid scheme disguised as a business.



As an information/mlm marketer one is hoping that someone else will want to pay for the "secret knowledge" of how to get someone else to buy the same information you purchased.



What will however live on after the internet marketing era collapses is the use of some of the effective techniques of internet marketing, use of social netowrking, opt-in e-mail lists, article marketing. But they will be used to sell real products and services. Business to business services will make use of these techniques. In fact some of the benefits of an mlm and downline system can be used effectively and ethically to sell real products.

WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE IN MARKETING SUCCESS?

The critical difference in marketing success or as they say the "tipping point" is training. No one is perfect or has all the answers when it comes to marketing. For me personally some of my most read articles didn't result in a single purchase. Some of my least read articles or marketing has resulted in money being made. THE ECONOMY OF THE FUTURE: PART 2

Since my last utter on the state of the economy it has become even more abundantly clear that the U.S. will lose the equivalent of one of the Big 3 U.S. automakers. What does this mean. It means that anywhere from 500,000 to 5 million people will be out of work sometime over the next 1 to 3 years in the U.S. due to all of the suppliers and other people who rely on the industry for their employment.



What does this mean for the U.S.? If you don't have the skills to organize others to sell and market services of value to people and businesses you will not be employed or employable nor will you be able to make it as an entrepreneur.

The Economy of the Future

I've given this a great deal of thought in recent days and weeks due to severe economic crisis we are all in I am sure I am not the only one. My qualifications: I have a BA and masters in both International studies and economics and Public Finance, worked at the White House Budget office for two years and am a business and have been an economic development consultant for the last 4 years as well as an internet marketer. I also have been in the mortgage and real estate investment business.



The economy of the future will essentially be one of the survival of the fittest. The only secure employer will essentially be the federal government or government contractors. The health care industry, high-tech manufacturing, energy, IT services, education and security-related professions and the like will be the only growth industries. Any profession associated with consumer spending, finance or investment will be in severe decline. In terms of entrepreneurship, industries associated with the growth industries mentioned above will be well if their marketing and distribution costs are efficient. Industries that save businesses money or help businesses to be more efficient will do well.



MLM type opportunities will suffer since most of these are tied to consumer products and spending. Furthermore, it will be increasingly difficult for new recruits to finance expenditures since many people have used credit cards to fund their mlm businesses.



The best opportunities for entrepreneurs will be those with low up front costs, low marketing costs (use of social networking and internet tools are ideal for this) and have a high profit margin. Products and services that allow for profit per sale of at least $1,000 are ideal. Why? In order to live most anywhere in the US takes at least $3,000 per month even for a single individual so an opportunity that would allow for that type of income is best.



Will everyone succeed given the new economic climate? Unfortunately no they won't. In fact many who have never had an entrepreneurial mindset will have to be retrained. When I say retrained I ma mostly talking about their mindset which will have to be converted from an employee's mindset to that of someone who is responsible for their own welfare and well-being. For most people a radical departure. For these individuals, they will need an entrepreneurial opportunity which both retrains their mindset and gives them a business service that meets their financial needs and a system to sell it successfully. I know this is a lengthy utter but I think people need to be prepared for their economic future and what it holds in store for them.

Hope: Whether for Obama Or Your Biz Make It Work

With the recent election of Barack Obama, the theme of hope has not only been discussed but has served as the central statement of so many Americans and citizens from around the world. I live in the Washington DC area and this past Saturday took the opportunity to go down to the national mall near the famous Lincoln Memorial, site of the famous "I Have A Dream Speech" of Martin Luther King, Jr. I spoke with someone about what they think of the recent election. I think that the same energy that was used to win a Presidential election is the same energy which can propel your business forward.

Is Your Self-Image Stopping You Cold?

In a recent survey conducted of Internet marketers and home-based businesses, nearly 80% of people said that their self-image was what was holding them back. Only 6% said it was a failed business technique. Shocking huh? Well not really, it shouldn't be that much of a surprise. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever bought something from someone who was not confident in themselves and in what they were selling you? Probably not. Raising one's self esteem and confidence is a must before success can come in business. You've got to increase your belief before you can increase your sales. You gain confidence by getting out there and just doing it! Whatever doing means for you. Internet Marketers, Let's Be Honest

Let's be honest, there are a million of us internet marketers out there right now, all promising that our particular opportunity is the one that will make our prospects a six figure income etc. etc. We're all basically bumping into each other on Facebook, Twitter, Ezinearticles and YouTube. Let's be honest how is a prospect really supposed to tell the difference between all these opportunities? My contention is that we must be honest with folks and tell them that there are no overnight successes in this business. It took me several months before I made a dime doing this. Many people make absolutely nothing--ever. Some are intimidated by things like setting up a squeeze page or a facebook account. All in all only small percentage of folks make it at most any kind of business. What we can over is a valuable education quite honestly. Even for those that don't make any money, they definitely will learn a ton and perhaps that is the greatest benefit we internet marketers can honestly provide--education to all. We help people to learn mostly about themselves and what they are made of. For many people they are better off just sticking with their 9 to 5 and doing business on the side until they reach the point in their personal development where they can make an actual living full time as an internet marketer.
